Our Story
Once upon a time, in the foreign land of Denmark, Erik and Mel's story began in the autumn of 2016 while exploring Copenhagen together. As they exchanged tips on the finer points of PowerPoint over margaritas, they realised that despite growing up continents apart they had so much in common.
From Tivoli gardens, Copenhagen Zoo to LA Tequila Bar their similarities kept on surprising eachother. Six months after Mel left Copenhagen for her finance job in Sydney, Erik and Mel met again for the first time in New York while Mel was on training . A memorable trip to the Bahamas followed, where Erik happily quit his Danish consulting job on the beach while sipping yet another margarita. With his offer from Macquarie Bank in hand, he flew 28 hours to a country he had never been, to third-wheel Mel and Hugh’s Edgecliff apartment.
Their connection deepened as they discovered their shared passions for food and travelling.
In 2022, Erik surprised Mel with a romantic proposal in the Villa Melzi Gardens in Bellagio, Lake Como. A resounding "yes," sealed their commitment to a lifetime of love and laughter. Now, as they embark on their greatest adventure yet, Mel and Erik invite you to join them in celebrating their love and the beginning of their forever journey.
